Goals and Objectives

To provide students of Clayburn Middle School with opportunities to learn and perform music in a co-operative group learning environment while enjoying themselves.  By performing at both in-school and out-of-school events, students in the Clayburn Concert Band have the opportunity to learn and experience the benefits of co-operatively working together with other students towards a goals.  Performance based Music programs allow students to discover their own creativity and help develop self-confidence as an individual and group member.

Students will also develop social skills, as they are a part of a band that is working together towards the goal of a Grand Performance.  The feeling of accomplishment as an individual and a band member at the end of performing a song and, even more so, a concert is unrivaled.  It is this sense of accomplishment that help students develop a positive view of one self as an individual and as a part of society.

Band Banquet

At the end of the year, we get together as one big group and participate in a Band Banquet.  We will have a lunch and an Awards Ceremony at a location yet to be decided.  After the Awards Ceremony, we are going to the Silvercity to watch a movie.
