Band Kick-off Assembly (September 10th @ 5:30pm)

On Wednesday September 10th from 5:30 - 6:00pm Clayburn Music Department is having a Band Kick-off Assembly.  All students and parents of students that are interested in the Band, Jazz Band or Rock Band programs are expected to attend this assembly.  Information and expectations will be outlined during the presentation.  KING'S MUSIC will also be in the band room providing instrument rental and repair services.  We are also starting our Entertainment Book Fundraiser that day!

Willy W0nka Musical Kick-off! (Early October)

In Early October @ 11:45 in the Band Room we will be hosting the Willy Wonka Musical Kick-off.  We are providing students with some snacks and a DVD-screening of Alice in Wonderland.  This session will help Students become familiar with the musical and decide what part they will audition for in the musical.

Christmas Cafe (December 9th @ RBSS) 

On December 9th @ 7:00pm Robert Bateman is hosting the Christmas cafe.  The Concert Band, Jazz Band and the Rock Band have been invited to participate in the concert. Clayburn Music Department is expecting to perform approximately 15-20 minutes of music.

A Musical Treat! (Dec. 12th & 13th)

On December 12th & 13th we will be hosting our annual event entitled "A Musical Treat".  Parents, relatives and friends! Sit back and enjoy an evening of treats.  We will be providing you with an evening of entertainment from the Concert Band, Jazz Band, Rock Band and Grade 6 Band.  The event starts at 7:00pm and students are expected to be at the school at 4:30pm for a full dress rehearsal on Friday and at 6:00pm on Saturday.

CMD Elementary School Tour (April 2009)

The Elementary School Tour has become part of Clayburn Middle Band Tradition.  Last year was the year we initiated the Elementary School Concert Tour.  Last June, every school that we had performed at invited us back for 2008.  We were invited to perform at 7 of our feeder Elementary Schools. This is a great opportunity for both the students playing and the students listening to experience the wonders and power of music and become inspired.

Festival Nelson (Spring 2010)

Festival Nelson is a non-competitive arts festival that is held annually in Nelson, BC.  The Concert Band may be attending this festival in the Spring of 2010. Due to the amount of planning and fundraising, we have decided that it is only feasible to participate in such a festival such as this every other year.  Click here for more information

CMD Okanagan Music Concert Tour (Spring 2010)

In the Spring of 2010, we may be planning a Music Concert Tour for the Clayburn Concert Band, Jazz Band and Rock Band.  We need at least a year to plan and fundraise for this tour.  In the Spring of 2009, we will decide whether or not we will commit to this Music Concert Tour. Due to the amount of planning and fundraising, we have decided that it is only feasible to plan a tour such as this every other year.

Chilliwack Music Festival (Spring 2009)

In the Spring of 2009, Clayburn Concert Band and Jazz Band will be participating in the Chilliwack Music Festival.  More information will be provided as soon as we get it.

Seattle Day-Trip (May 2009)

Please note that as of 2008, Canadians may be required to carry passports in order to enter the USA.  We are planning a trip to Seattle this year that once again coincides with the Seattle International Children’s Festival. More information will be provided in the Spring of 2009.

Willy Wonka Jr. (May 21st & 22nd)

We are performing Willy Wonka 4 times in 2009.

Final Concert (June 2nd - RBSS)

RBSS Music Department will be hosting a Final Concert on June 2nd and has invited the musical groups from Clayburn Music Department to perform 15-20 minutes of music.  More information will be provided in the Spring of 2009.

Clayburn Family BBQ (June 4th)

On Thursday June 4th, Clayburn PAC is hosting the Annual Family BBQ.  The Rock Band and Jazz Band have been invited to perform on the CMS Stage and provide the parents CMS students with a great taste of Clayburn Music Tradition. More information will be made available in the Spring of 2009.

Spring Concert (June 11th) 

The Spring Concert is  the students chance to show everybody what they have learned over the past 10 months.  All students in the band program are expected attend.  The concert starts at 7:00pm .  Students to be at the school for 5:00pm for a full dress rehearsal. More information will be provided in the Spring of 2009.

Music Banquet (June 23rd)

A Clayburn Music Department Tradition!  We will be ending the year with a pizza party and Boston Pizza in Mission and an Awards Ceremony followed by a movie at the Silvercity in Mission. More information will be provided in the Spring of 2009.
